Abstract
According to Hegel reality can neither be identified with immediate sensible existence nor disregard that contingency in which such an existence is rooted. Indeed necessity unfolds unavoidably in contingency and therefore determines itself as contingency; the latter, which looked like the presupposition of the development of the former, ultimately reveals itself to be the result of the self-position of necessity.
