Abstract
This brief essay, taking as starting points Primo Levi’s book “If This is a Man” and some significant documentary movies on the trials for crimes against humanity perpetrated during World War II, reflects on the requirements of a narration aimed not only at preserving the memory of past horrors (mainly in order to prevent new ones), but also at making possible a fair and detached judgment on them, be it a legal or a personal one.
