Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] In the years of the Consulate and the Empire, the reference to Bonaparte's political and religious virtue provided a rather significant contribution to the progressive elaboration of the Napoleonic myth. Starting from the analysis of a vast and hitherto unpublished documentation, the contribution investigates the strategies which, starting from references to the virtuous character of the owner of the executive, contributed to rooting his image as a just, clement, wise and pious hero, fueling his construction of political consensus.
