The article discusses the widespread view that the lexicon of fashion is inconsistent and subject to neologisms and borrowings. The analysis of the neological borrowings of fashion allows to deepen its motivation in contemporary digital communication. The observation of the different distribution of neology between production and commercialization offers a new perspective to face the study of the lexicon of fashion and its neological productivity.
