Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The close connection between philosophical knowledge and belief is an ancient phenomenon which finds a particularly strong expression in the hermetic of the Renaissance. The present study intends to shed light on the contribution of hermeticism to the origin and development of the German Enlightenment using the example of transmigration of souls.
