Abstract
The review describes the book, published by Laterza, by Mimmo Franzinelli, edited by Mimmo Franzinelli himself, a well-known expert on Italy's last century, particularly on Fascism and the post-war period. The book is titled Mussolini racconta Mussolini (Mussolini Tells Mussolini) and presents a collection of several autobiographical and private writings — some even unpublished — by the Fascist leader himself, selected and organized by the editor. The review highlights, with a careful critical eye, the self-representation of the dictator, which is sometimes distorted, both by propaganda and by Mussolini's own hand.
