Misurazione e potenziamento delle competenze socio-cognitive

[Autom. eng. transl.] Starting from a consideration of the construct of “socio-cognitive competence” as a complex set of multiple cognitive and social abilities that contribute in an integrated way to the correct adaptation with the physical and social context, the authors propose to present a recognition of assessment methods and techniques to strengthen some of the main cognitive and social competences in developmental and adult age necessary for socially "competent" action. Specifically, the first section (edited by Barbara Colombo) of the volume explores basic cognitive-communication skills, including intelligence, attention, critical thinking, decision-making, cooperation, self-esteem. With respect to these skills, specific strengthening methodologies are also discussed in the workplace (for example multimedia and narration). The second section (edited by Simona Caravita) widens the horizon from adulthood to developmental age, focusing on the construct of social competence in infancy, childhood and adolescence. In this section, in particular, the dimensions connected to the young person's position in the peer group are examined, and the socio-cognitive processing skills of the social information and the emotional and moral skills from which a well-adapted social behavior emerges are investigated. Each chapter, after presenting the competence in question, examines the main evaluation techniques and illustrates some programs and methodologies for strengthening them. Contributors to the volume, as authors of the individual chapters, are important scholars of the psychological research landscape at national level.
