Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Speaking of performance measurement at the level of central administrations, and in particular of ministries, today means addressing an issue on which the debate is rather broad and significantly politicized. The processes of measurement and above all of evaluation of the results obtained by administrations, in particular in those sectors closest to citizenship, such as safety, work and education, provide information that is decontextualized and systematically inserted in the statements of various politicians, in the texts of newspapers and press releases, in common conversations. The chapter carries out a survey of the elements of innovation introduced by Legislative Decree 150 of 2009 in the context of the Italian central administration, evaluating their possible implications.
