Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The fifth edition of the annual report on migrations in Brescia presents the data relating to the immigrant population processed by the Center for Initiatives and Research on Migrations - Brescia (CIRMiB) in concert with: Regional Observatory for integration and multi-ethnicity, Chamber of Commerce of Brescia, Brescia Municipality, Brescia Prefecture, Brescia Police Headquarters, Ismu Foundation, and by consulting the databases of UNHCR, ISTAT, Ministry of the Interior, MUR, INVALSI, Banca d'Italia and SISTAL. The first part, mainly statistical, deals with the condition of foreign residents in the province of Brescia (demographic, economic, scholastic, health, legal and socio-cultural aspects). The second part presents a Dossier on the link between migration and war, touching on some of the main conflict areas from which the current migratory flows towards Italy and Europe originate: Ukraine and the Balkan countries, Afghanistan, the Horn of Africa, and two places of transit that intercept those fleeing wars: Malta and the English Channel. The Dossier is introduced by an unpublished essay on Anthropology of War by Anna Casella Paltrinieri (recently passed away).
