[Autom. eng. transl.] What are the peculiarities of family research? What does it mean to study an object by its relational nature? How can one view the views of several family members simultaneously? The present text intends to answer these and the other numerous questions that family research poses, presenting the different theoretical and empirical solutions that have been proposed by scholars over the years. The text offers concrete indications on how to keep the family perspective in mind at all stages of the research, from the design to the analysis of the data produced, so that the object, unit and level of analysis are really 'familiar'. Alongside the display of the various phases of research and analysis techniques, some research examples are also presented. The text intends to be a useful tool for all those (students, researchers and operators) who approach the family research in various ways.
