Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Science is not given by a set of results, but by the method by which we obtain them: the present text, which we have decided to adapt to the Italian context, starts precisely from this assumption, and considers the readers of interested researchers to understand how valid results can be obtained. The volume of Shaughnessy, Zechmeister and Zechmeister starts from a consolidated experience of the authors as researchers and as teachers of research methodology, and presents an exhaustive overview of the most widely used research methods in psychology, reporting numerous examples of research. The volume is aimed at psychology students who want to deepen the research methodology and to all those who, for different reasons, are engaged in the adventure of scientific research. The discussion concerns methodological aspects characteristic of different areas of psychological research, from the basic to developmental psychology, from social to clinical psychology.
