Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The speech offers some reflections on the methodology relating to the reconstruction of the industrial landscape in ancient times in Populonia as part of the reconstruction of environmental and urban development of the cd. "Lower city". The results of the excavations carried out in recent years, in different points of the plain of Gulf of Baratti and the slopes of the Populonia promontory, allow you to review, in some cases in completely new way, the models proposed up to now. In particular, the analysis of the data that emerged has offered an opportunity to reconstruct the dynamics relating to unloading and reuse from a different perspective of the resulting materials of ancient metallurgical activities and of the signs that emerge in the territory as a result of the recovery activity of the last century.
