Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The essays collected in this volume were born on the occasion of the conference "The metamorphosis of Franz Kafka between theater cinema and literature" held at the Brescia headquarters of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart on 27 and 28 February 2014. The starting point to dedicate two days of study to the famous Kafkaesque tale was offered by the theatrical adaptation of Metamorfosi, directed by Luca Micheletti, produced by CTB Teatro Stabile of Brescia and staged in Brescia from 18 February to 16 March 2014. A contingent opportunity is therefore at the origin of a renewed reflection on Franz Kafka's masterpiece, a reflection that aimed to enhance and expand the dual perspective traced by the Brescia staging: on the one hand the intertwining of different languages, alongside optics dramaturgical attention to the cinematographic transpositions of the story, on the other the intercultural openness that, starting from the Italian context, has widened its gaze also to French, English, Spanish-American and American literatures.
