Abstract
The essay compares the absolute truth of logics and metaphysics and the way this is declined in history, where truth is not related to theory, but to action and practice. Truth must become reality in order to generate an ethical, political and social behaviour. The relationship between absolute reality and historical contingence is conceived in several ways throughout the XX century, from Nietzsche up to postmodernism.
