Abstract

Between 1899 and 1916 Luigi Einaudi published several articles on "Stampa" and "Corriere della Sera" on the port of Genoa. Although they are journalistic writings, they focus on important topics even today, like that of autonomy, the labor market and its organization, infrastructure, mechanization and, finally, the role of the port in a war economy. Einaudi analyses the idea of the port as a driving force for the economic development of the territory and country.
