Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] Attention and sensitivity to food-related problems are today at the center of significant scientific debates, in the awareness of the close correlation between nutrition and quality of life. The contribution, without claiming to be exhaustive, intends to focus on a reflection on food as a generator of good practices that promote the humanum and enrich its identity. Recognizing its health, cultural and affective values to food means conveying the transmission of knowledge between generations and cultivating values of affectivity, conviviality, mutual knowledge, discovery of differences. The awareness that in childhood they set and consolidate the eating habits of each one imposes on the school a decisive role in the promotion of correct lifestyles. Specifically, the moment of the meal can be an important occasion for the students, as well as food education, socializing and sharing and being linked to gift experiences, in a network with the charitable structures present in the territory, in the sign of a new sustainable living and a social use of skills, for the promotion of responsible behavior. Feeding educational sustainability at school calls into question, among other things, the challenges of the circular economy, the quality of air and water, the defense of biodiversity and food safety.
