Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The publication offers an in-depth analysis of 34 European countries that host 551 large-scale conference venues (at least 2,000 seats in the largest theater-style hall), identifying the critical success factors of the main European conference cities. Statistical data on congressional activity, international indicators and rankings on the factors of attractiveness most pertinent to the congress offer (accessibility, quality of life, cultural and recreational offer, hotel quality, and of catering and the economic environment), summarizing the structural potential of 128 European cities (Congress Structural Index) and the attractiveness of 25 of the main European destinations (Congressional Attractiveness Index) by constructing two specific indexes. The publication also presents a description of the services offered, generally free of charge or in favor of favorable conditions, by the Convention Bureaus of the main European conference destinations and forms of economic and financial support implemented at central or local level.
