[Autom. eng. transl.] Never before has the interest in Italian companies grown significantly in recent times. In part this is due to the highly respected performance of Made in Italy companies in the world that have proposed winning solutions and formulas on the market, different and more competitive than the established foreign competitors. Italian companies have become global players in a more explicit manner, favoring acquisition processes and placing themselves at the attention as an original formula, in some ways iconic, of a management model. However, the debate on the potential of an “Italian management model” is still very timid, it remains anchored to very traditional categories and to a reading by difference with respect to standards and benchmarking reconstructed on the copious managerial literature, conditioned by the exclusive observation of the functioning of the large enterprise multinational. Starting from the perspective of different methodological analyzes, the book converges and describes an Italian business model, which has its own competitive advantage features and which combines resources available to it, economically and socially, in an original and effective way. Companies that are medium in size and work organization, in contrast to small and large companies, but excellent in terms of performance in the global competition.
