Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The chapter analyzes the communication relating to the migratory phenomenon in the Italian media: television, with the surveys carried out on prime time newscasts and the main infotainment programs and the press, with the surveys on the main national and local newspapers. The goal is to understand if and how the health emergency caused by Covid-19 has led to a change in the story of migration, in the awareness that, in the case of migrants, invisibility - including that of statistics - also has social consequences, because contributes to fueling racism and xenophobia.
