Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The use of so-called 'alternative' biological matrices (compared to those considered 'conventional' such as blood and urine) derives from the need to identify more versatile instruments capable of providing accurate and reliable toxicological data, also with regard to the timing of intake of psychoactive substances. The advancement of analytical techniques makes it possible today to use more complex biological matrices and / or of which lower quantities are available, easier to take and more difficult to adulterate. An overview is given of the possibilities, characteristics of different biological samples, applications and analytical methods
