Abstract

Among the protagonists of the Informal season, Mario Bionda (1913-1985) is the author of a painting that expresses the intimate human drama, ra contemplation of nature and rarefaction of the image. The works of the 1950s and 1960s, to which this volume is dedicated, layer natural materials and pigments, colours alluding to natural elements (fire, water, earth) in the browns and greens of woods and marshes, in whites, greys and blues. The book recounts Bionda's painting through works from the artist's archive and the collection of the Museo Boschi di Stefano in Milan.
