Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The essay examines the presence of Giambattista Marino in the Aristotelian telescope of Emanuele Tesauro. It is a discreet but highly significant presence, the more it is taken into account that Marino's works were already on the Index well before the first edition of the telescope. Tesauro embraces the Marinian conviction that poetry should loosen its constraints from the likely, but refuses to follow it on the ground of sophistication, recovering the truthful value of the poetic word and avoiding the risk of linguistic and cultural relativism.
