Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Paolo di Tarso and Niccolò Machiavelli represent for Manzoni two of the polarities within which many of his ethical and poetic choices are made. From the reading of their works, the author of the Adelchi and the Promessi sposi receives answers, collects solicitations to his frequent and different meditating on the mystery of human nature, on pain and evil, on hope and glory, on justice and utility , on civilization and barbarism, on invention and on history. With these words Francesca D'Alessandro presents her own in-depth analysis, which adopts an unusual and extremely useful critical perspective to develop a greater knowledge of the Manzoni poetics.
