Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The essay reviews various Manzoni writings, notably the "Observations on Catholic morality", with related appendices, the "Letter to Victor Cousin" and the "Invention" dialogue, comparing the philosophical thought of the author with some of the currents more in vogue in his time, in particular with utilitarianism, skepticism and speculation of Rosmini.
