Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] On a personal and collective level, one does nothing but talk about evil. But as much as it always makes the news and is always in the spotlight, saying something serious about it is really difficult. The more evil is brought to attention, the more it seems to lose weight and consistency, we are so used to its media overdoses and its more or less petty justifications always at hand. When, on the other hand, the scandalous reality of evil is indubitable - the very fact that you want and do it against others. Faced with daily and epochal wickedness, with the bombastic socio-political promises as with the quick religious reassurances, Gabriel Marcel highlights the paradoxes of this incessant discourse. In the abyss of evil one must rather go down and pause.
