Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The functionalistic, depersonalizing and bureaucratic drift of medicine goes hand in hand with a crisis of vocation. Hence a cahier de doléances that arises from observing places and ways of medical practice: standardized healthcare and hospitals, health workers and working hours, specialism and anonymity. Gabriel Marcel launches an appeal for the recovery of the humanistic soul of medicine: of the direct doctor / patient relationship; of the sick person who is a person more than one case among many; of therapy which is also an encounter. The experience and the story of the patient regarding his suffering are not irrelevant for the scientific seriousness of medicine.
