Abstract

We investigated global gene expression in maize ears at several time points after infection with Fusarium verticillioides. When resistant and susceptible maize genetypes were compared, in the resistant line the expression of defence genes were induced upon infection. The basal defence response was active against several fubgal species invading maize kernels.
