Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The volume analyzes the characteristics of Abruzzo's educational institutions, through the specific examination of some municipal and provincial realities, in a period between the sixteenth and nineteenth centuries. Within this period of time, the transition from an old regime school model, characterized by a plurality of institutions of different matrix and without coordination, to a type of school in which the State assumed a central role took place. At the same time, the demand for education, initially restricted to a circle of privileged people, was taking root and spreading to an increasingly large number of subjects
