[Autom. eng. transl.] The stages of theological interpretation and criticism of the Prince of Machiavelli are marked, from the Dominican Sienese Ambrogio Catarino Politi to the definitive damnatio in the early nineties of the sixteenth century with the Jesuit Antonio Possevino.
