Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The article analyzes an important fresco, substantially unpublished, dated 1437 and re-emerged in Scarlino, in the Maremma of Grosseto, during a recent restoration. Particular attention is given, specifically, to the client context (investigated through extensive documentary research) and to the production context. It is a painting to be returned to a Sienese workshop of the early fifteenth century, whose language and cultural background are deepened.
