Abstract

More than ten years after the reflections on the logos developed by Joseph Ratzinger in Ratisbon, we would like to further discuss the logos, although our reflections will move in a different direction from the one followed by the former Pope. We will start from his reflections on oriental religious traditions and their historical and phenomenological relationships with the Christian tradition. It is well known that Ratzinger's interest in religious studies, and on Christianity in particular, was historical and comparative-historical, before being theological. In the present essay, we intend to compare – although through a differentiating comparison – the Greek notion of logos with the Chinese tao, the Indian dharma, and the Indo-Iranian rta and asha.
