Abstract

The articles aims to reconstruct Epistula CXI’s immediate and remote framework, written by Pier Damiani in 1062 to contribute to the Filioque question. Starting from the analysis of the letter’s text, in relation with other passages, we try to investigate the meaning of being theologian and to make theology for the hermit cardinal.
