Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] After the turbulence of 2007 and 2008, 2009 began for the world dairy market under favorable auspices, with prices at minimum levels following the fall of 2008 and the general economic crisis that hindered the recovery in demand. In the third and, above all, fourth quarter of the year, however, signs of dynamism appeared: in some key countries, imports started again, while the reduction in the production of the main commodities, combined with some speculative maneuvers on stocks, allowed the start of a price recovery phase.
