Abstract
During the excavation at Palazzo Locatelli a large amount of Roman pottery was found, mainly coarse kitchenware and a little fine-fabric common ware. Other types were present in small quantities, including a few number of tiny fine tableware sherds, a few pieces of amphorae and a group of oil lamps, some of which were intact. The most archaeologically. significant contexts are those associated with preparation and construction of the monumental complex that was built in the area in early Imperial times, in addition to Late Antique pit fills connected with the removal of the disused Roman buildings. The second category yielded the most material, corresponding to vessel types dating to the mid-late Roman Empire found locally and in the region
