Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] "The epidemic that hit us manifested itself with the violence of the unpredictable" and yet predicting and deciding one's own well-being is today among the main conditions of our society. One of the most lucid current philosophers reflects on the drama of the coronavirus starting from the words we use to explain this event and its consequences: because the "future" is different from the "future", the "world" from the "real", the " science "by" scientists "," optimism "by" hope ", but also because the modality of" dying "terrified us more than" death "itself, to the point of understanding that authentic" freedom "does not consist in do what you want. How has the epidemic changed us? What can we do to not get overwhelmed? "We should be more serious in living time, which is never just" our time ", the time of our" private urgencies "", says the author, indicating an attitude for the "after" and citing Camus' plague: "We must stay, accept the scandal, start walking in darkness and try to do good".
