Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The purpose of this study is to outline the representation that the psychologist employed by a public service has of his own institutional belonging and of the relationship with the user. Furthermore we want to verify if the specificity of professional training (psychodynamic or systemic-relational) affects the representation and perception of one's work. Interviews were conducted with 16 psychologists employed at the ASL Città di Milano and Provincia. The Symbolic Design of the Working Life Space (DSSL) has also been administered, a graphic-projective tool that allows to grasp the representation that the subject has of the working world. The results highlight some differences between psychodynamic and systemic psychologists: for systemics, the representation of oneself in a marginal position seems to favor a greater awareness of institutional belonging, while for psychodynamicists the latter seems to be more favored by the representation of oneself in position central or semi-central. The results show that, apart from the different representations of oneself in the institution, the substantial difference that emerges concerns the relationship with the user: the systemics represent themselves more in relation with the users, unlike the psychodynamicists who represent themselves in terms of proximity to users, but omit relationships. Therefore, an operation centered more on defensive modalities seems to emerge, with respect to the operativity of the systemicists who seem to contemplate more a certain institutional dependence.
