Abstract
The population in Italian prisons is composite and complex, and the demographic changes taking place in Italy inevitably influence its own composition too.
From a religious point of view, in addition to the presence of Christians of different confessions, Hindus, Sikhs and Buddhists, among foreigners under detention, the Islamic religion is in percentage the prevailing one.
