Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Sweden has always distinguished itself from the neighboring Scandinavian countries for its liberal and multicultural approach in the policies of entry and integration of migrants and is generally considered one of the most democratic and egalitarian places in the world. Can an integration model be defined? What principles and priorities have guided your policies? Can we talk about the actual inclusion of those born abroad and their descendants? Empirical research, conducted in this Nordic country, returns a complex and multifaceted image of a society that welcomes and, at the same time, excludes. In the historical phase that is experiencing, characterized by rapid and profound changes, Sweden cannot escape a problematic outlook open to new solutions to respond to the old and new challenges posed by migration. A critical examination of how this Scandinavian country has faced and manages migrant flows today and their presence on the territory is a useful reflection on one of the most debated and controversial current issues and offers a possible key to understanding the wider and articulated dynamics that are affecting the whole of Europe.
