Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The Federalimentare data showed that the Italian agri-food sector (agricultural sector and food industry) in 2016 represented 11.3% of the national GDP: out of a total of 1.672 billion euros, 132 billion came from the food industry and 55 billion from the agro-livestock sector. For the pork sector, 2016 again turned out to be a complex year that began with great uncertainty as a result of the European crisis in the pork market in 2014-2015 and the IARC announcement that significantly reduced consumption of meat and products transformed.
