Abstract
The contribution deals with the pedagogical profile of Giuseppe Mari, professor of Pedagogy at Catholic University of Milan, recently dead, who contributed to affirm a rereading of the pedagogical foundamentals according to the classical and Christian tradition. For reconstructing his pedagogical perspective, this reflection is articulated in three points of attention: contemporary crisis and education of conscience, Christian identity and theoretical commitment of pedagogy and the educational challenges about freedom.
