Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] This brief contribution seeks to provide a useful perspective to interpret what the effects of a prolonged lockdown on the Italian economy may be, even beyond the short term, taking into account the particular characteristics of the industrial structure of our country. At the moment, the epidemiological evolution of the virus, despite the efforts to control it, still seems uncertain and it is difficult to try to estimate the exact duration of both the lockdown and the various restart phases. Furthermore, the temporary closure of numerous production activities causes, as a side effect, the interruption of the normal functioning of the institutional channels for data collection, which in turn causes a delay in the availability of estimates of the economic impact of Covid-19. on the economies of the countries, (to be honest almost everyone) affected by the pandemic.
