Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The process of imagination, like the other stages in which the domestication of ICT is articulated, is continuous and never given once and for all. The appropriation of new technologies is not concluded in the act of purchase or in the space-time positioning of the medium between the routines of daily life: it is a process of continuous negotiation, by virtue of which often ICTs require to be re-domesticated, often following the arrival of a new medium or the multiplication of already familiar technologies, sometimes ending up being de-domesticated. Secondly, the imagination and incorporation of the media are always practices located in a social context, which helps to shape the processes of attribution of meaning and the experiences of use in the same way as the technological imaginary and the media environment of each subject. Considering the interrelation of the three levels of imagination - social and media discourses; consumer experiences settled in shared customs and meanings; collective socialization of platforms and fruitive practices - the chapter analyzes the expectations and practices of signification through which digital television platforms (satellite, digital terrestrial TV and IPTV) are incorporated and made significant in the media diets of young people.
