Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The liberal project has tried and still tries to create not only a market economy, but a society that ultimately resolves itself into the market. Where social relations are irrelevant if they are not mediated by the market and even political institutions are looked at and evaluated only on the basis of the economic interests of selfish individuals, while money can buy everything and inequalities of income, wealth and opportunity can grow out of all proportion in the name of merit, incentives, efficiency. The ideology of the market is interwoven with these threads.
