[Autom. eng. transl.] By encouraging the many initiatives promoted by the Youth of Catholic Action, Pius XI also supported the work of the Anonima Veritas Editrice (AVE), the publishing company founded and managed by the leaders of the male youth association starting from 1928. The essay intends to reconstruct the pedagogical planning of the AVE during the Rattian pontificate, referring not only to the contents of the volumes published by it but also to the forms of educational communication to which the same volumes referred. As has also been suggested by some of the most authoritative historians of Catholic associations, the adoption of a historical-educational point of view allows us to get to the heart of the specific mission of the Youth of Catholic Action; a formative mission above all, before being cultural and political. The popular vocation of the publisher, which aimed to disseminate texts with which to reach all the young people who frequented ecclesial circles, makes the study of his publications an interesting object of research to add a new piece to the articulated mosaic of the educational project of the Catholic world.
