Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The Charter of Nice, after dignity, places the fundamental principle of civil coexistence as the founding value of human rights. The essay sets itself in front of the value of freedom, considering on the one hand how it informs the relations between the Church and the States, in particular the Italian one, and on the other by testing its role within the juridical order of the Church itself.
