Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] In 1945 "The social economic program of liberalism" was published, written by Costantino Bresciani Turroni in the same year. The notoriety for the prestige of the positions already held, his not being compromised by relations with the fascist regime, the clarity of exposition, made Bresciani Turroni an ideal candidate for the drafting of the economic and social program of a liberal party which, even if reduced, he intended to play an important role in post-war Italy. Bresciani's text is reported here together with a selection of chapters from the «Introduction to economic policy», which according to the economist's opinion allow to deepen and give more theoretical content to the principles set out in the «Program». The nine chapters of the introduction presented here clearly highlight the characterizing traits of Bresciani's thought - formed starting from the early twentieth century and profoundly marked by the events of the twenties and thirties - as well as his methodological approach for the elaboration of a theory of Political Economics. The volume is completed by an extensive bibliography of the author's writings.
