Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The sixteenth edition of the “Mario Arcelli” Lesson, organized from Cespem "Mario Arcelli", the University's study center Cattolica, the Piacenza office, had a different story this year than in the past, since, due to the restrictions emerged due to the Covid-19 epidemic, it was not possible to hold the usual lesson open to the public at the Piacenza office of the Catholic University. We therefore opted for a restricted seminar, also open to students, but only online and in the form of videoconferencing. An introductory greeting has also been provided for this edition of various local and academic authorities and institutions as well to discussants as usual. This year's lesson, The role of the dollar and the search for a new Bretton Woods, was held by prof. Giovanni Tria, former Minister of Economy and Finance of the Italian Republic, and previously dean of economics at the University of Rome Tor Vergata. The professor. Tria has extensive knowledge of the subject because of his previous experiences, but also because of his studies and insights published over time. THE
