Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] the theologian Roberto Maier underlines "the original complicity" between the Gospel
and a novel that has also resisted the misunderstandings of the past when Christianity "has often opposed the novel by placing many masterpieces on the index, condemning their authors". Instead, the relationship between literature and Christian faith is, according to Maier, something not casual or accessory but crucial, vital.
