[Autom. eng. transl.] The work was created with the aim of investigating the relationships between masters, schools and analysis of literary texts or autobiographical stories set in the century and a half that we have behind us. The primary intent is to reconstruct the educational image of the master in the literature by resorting to different narrative points of view, with all the facets that this method entails, and to identify the main characteristics that this figure has played in about one hundred and fifty years of Italian school. The research is accompanied by references to precise historical events, but wants to devote itself mainly to literature (real), exploring the figure of the teacher inserted in his working and existential context, through the commentary of a highly variegated corpus of texts.
