Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The article addresses the issue of (inter) cultural information in a late 19th-century French-Italian dictionary, which records anthroponyms and toponyms with the aim of providing encyclopedic information complementary to linguistic information. A first corpus of analysis consists of the proper names listed in the letter M of the two parts of the dictionary, in order to verify what kind of cultural information is presented in the dictionary. The analysis continues on a second corpus composed of descriptive glosses of Italian and French anthroponyms selected in both parts of the dictionary.
